Yesterday the temperature was in the 80s in NYC with humidity at 1,000 %. I know I am exaggerating but that’s what it felt like. It was just extremely muggy and sticky. Yesterday was just a teaser of what I should expect for the summer. With it being so humid, my hair went from silky straight to a big poof.

During the summer months, I usually wear my hair in twist outs, bantu knots, or I use flexi rods just to achieve a curly look. Those hairstyles are a little time consuming. I need to find a way to fight the humidity because I can’t deal with poofy or frizzy hair.

I have used the humidity shield by Maven Beauty, but only when I used my flexi rods or did the bantu knots.

So ladies, I have a few questions:

What do you do to fight the humidity? How do you maintain your hairstyles during the summer months and what products do you use if any?

Suggestions are greatly appreciated 🙂

Great post, can’t wait to see other’s suggestions..

I personally use morrocan oil’s oil treatment, suggested to me by my hair dresser. During the summer months, it helps me with my frizz battle, along with my wash & set and pin curls 🙂

  2. I use morrocan oil also and it does wonders. I haven’t had a problem with frizz since I have been using it. That’s been about 6-7 months. I would suggest that.

I had the same problem yesterday. I used to use frizz ease but haven’t in a while. I may go back to that. Not sure though. I heard Ouidad products are good too, but not sure if it is for my hair type and texture.

I use Moroccan Oil. I think that is the best thing to use and I have googled tons of products. As far as hair styles, I think you have them covered. It is a lot of work but your hair will last
