A black turtleneck sweater is a must for a classic wardrobe. Some women are unable to wear turtlenecks, which is unfortunate, but for those of you who can, stock up on this classic piece. The turtleneck can be dressed up or down and goes with EVERYTHING from skinny jeans, slacks, to pencil skirts. This is definitely a go to piece that add instant glam or coolness to your everyday style. Here are three looks that can be worn with a classic black turtleneck during the fall/winter seasons

So this is just a quick post to show how a few of my looks from Thanksgiving and the weekend. I spent Thursday at my cousin’s house like I’ve been doing since I was a baby. I wore a cream puff sleeved shirt, winter shorts, burgundy knit vest, brown tights, and brown boots on Thanksgiving. I originally wanted to wear my sweater dress, but I chose not too and went with the shorts instead.

My sister wore a black sweater dress, fishnet tights and black boots.

A few family photos (that’s my mom in the middle, cousin up top, and niece at the bottom)

Friday night my alma mater (Lincoln University) and the National Pan-Hellenic Council (Divine 9 Black Greek Organizations) sponsored a toy/book drive and bowling party. I went just to socialize, see a few familiar faces and my sorors and frat brothers, definitely not to bowl lol. So I wore a black sweater dress, leopard tights, black riding boots, and a teal cardigan to make the dress more casual.

Oh and I did my faux-natural hairstyle and everyone loves it! I only do this hairstyle when I don’t feel like going to the hair salon. It is a little difficult to maintain because my waves/curls drop quickly, but I’ll figure out a way to keep this do with as little maintenance as possible.

Elegantly Untamed, an accessory company specializing in luxury iPhone cases, was started by Anya Kucheryavenko in the spring of this past year. She was inspired to create her phone accessories after she recreated an original version of Swarovski embellished phone cases. When she created her own she was showered with compliments and encouraged to create sell them.

Within 7 months she realized the promise of her talents and created Elegantly Untamed. This is actually her second company. Anya started The College Gift Box which is a care package service for college students.

The Elegantly Untamed phone cases are all unique. Each piece is one of a kind. The cases are a work of art; hand-applied Swarovski crystals, jewelry and other elements. This small accessory is sure to be a show stopper. Each case gets a Russian name with a meaning.

The latest creation is called “Zoya” which means “life.” In the description there is a quote by Mother Teresa which corresponds to the meaning, “Life is bliss, taste it. Life is a dream, realize it. So each case has something different to express.

This is a great gift for the fashion savvy woman. These cases are one of a kind. They are all created by hand by Anya herself. Get your orders in early!

So today is also Cyber Monday and Elegantly Untamed is offering $45 off of the Swarovski iPhone Cases!

The words of Pastor A.R. Bernard

But encourage each other every day while it is “today.”  Help each other so none of you will become hardened because sin has tricked you.

Hebrews 3:13 NCV

This world can be a difficult place, a place where many of our friends and family members are troubled by the challenges of everyday life.  And since we cannot always be certain who needs our help, we should strive to speak helpful words to all who cross our paths.

Genuine encouragement should never be confused with pity.  God intends for His children to lead lives of abundance, joy, celebration, and praise-not lives of self-pity or regret.  So we must guard ourselves against hosting (or joining) the “pity parties” that so often accompany difficult times.  Instead, we must encourage each other to have faith-first in God and His only begotten Son-and then in our own abilities to use the talents God has given us for the furtherance of His kingdom and for the betterment of our own lives.

When you think about it, with God on your side you have every reason to be hopeful, and you have every reason to share your hopes with others.  When you do, you will discover that hope, like other human emotions, is contagious.  So do the world (and yourself) a favor: Look for the good in others and celebrate the good that you find.  When you do, you’ll be a powerful force of encouragement to your friends and family…and a worthy servant to your Creator.

A Simple Step

Do you want to be successful and go far in life?  Encourage others to do the same.  You can’t lift other people up without lifting yourself up, too.

I want to wish all of my HGB readers and their families a happy thanksgiving! This is the time to give thanks for family, friends, health, and much more.

I want to especially thank you all for supporting me and my vision for Her Goody Bag. Enjoy this day full of laughs, love, and great food!
