“You cannot step into the same river twice”

Pastor Luis Carlo was the guest pastor at church yesterday and his message was phenomenal. He touched on one specific topic but he pretty much summed up my feelings for the past few months in regards to work. I’m not going to get into the details about work (it is a small world) but his message was titled “Perspectives on Mobility: The Arrow is Beyond You.” So first we defined mobility:

Mobility-noun- the quality or state of being capable of moving or changing quickly from one state or condition to another

As we all may no the only thing that is constant in life is change. Life is full of movement and transitions. Even when it comes to the various stages of life, we grow from an infant to a toddler and so forth. Change is something that we cannot control. People try to control change by remaining stagnant, but that is just hurting the person who is trying to prevent the inevitable. Pastor Carlo said “culture resists change. With culture, you enjoy traditions because of the safety of the status quo.” So people who refuse to change often get left behind and miss great opportunities that life has to offer.

We must realize that our human state has been “groomed for mobility.” This is because the world and society changes. So Pastor Carlo said “In a world of mobility some of us are stuck and are unaware of the next step we should take or we are sometimes being held back and prevented from moving forward.

We are not called to remain stagnant or complacent in our situations. We should also strive to move forward and be mobile in all areas of life: physically, mentally, financially, spiritually, socially, and emotionally.” Even if we need to change our current situation by removing ourselves from certain places or people we need to move forward. Remaining in the same place is not going to help us fulfill any goal. First we need to have goals. When you set goals you are mobile because you are changing your current condition or state.

“Sometimes you have to leave your comfort zone to live the life God is calling for you.” It is time to mobilize and move forward. Ladies (and gents) let us take this step together. Let us re-evaluate ourselves and see where we have become comfortable and not striving to improve some aspect of our lives. IT IS TIME TO MOBILIZE AND MOVE FORWARD!
