This is one for the history books ladies! Vogue Italia has launched a new section of their website called Vogue Black. It is FOR US BY US (No FUBU please thanks). The content is specifically geared to black women (duh). They will feature all black models, the best products and advice in beauty and hair care for black women and much more. The site currently has articles about Grace Jones, Tyra Banks, Zoe Saldana and their Iconic Black Issue of Vogue released in 2008. The Editor-At-Large for Vogue Black is Bethann Hardison, “former model, agent, writer, businesswoman and all-around fashion force” (via Essence.com)

Korto from Project Runway is clearly showing that she should have taken the title. I think she was underestimated as a designer and her show at NYFW proves this to be true. Her line is vibrant, innovative, and functional. REAL WOMEN can be seen in her pieces. Some designers create looks that people try wear as RTW and they just end up not doing the line any justice. Korto, on the other hand, has an eye for sophistication and elegance. You will not look ordinary in her pieces and that is what’s needed in fashion today.
She uses silohuettes that accentuate a woman’s figure and uses vibrant colors like fuschia and orange that would make any woman noticeable when she walks into a room. What is most appealing about Korto’s line is not just the color, but the voluminous pieces paired with more tailored pieces like an exaggerated cowl neck sweater with slim fitting pants, which creates the perfect proportion.

Spring time needs to come quick!!! This snow, slush, sleet mess needs to go away. As you all may know, I am not fond of the winter, but I know that I need this so I can appreciate spring and summer so much more. Well as I wait I am putting together transitional looks. So I have picked just a few pairs of shoes that I am considering purchasing (some not all) and guess what they are all under $30! That’s the good thing about Forever21. Their shoes are not uncomfortable either so that’s even better.
- Jean Basket Heel $29.80
- Strappy Ankle Pumps $29.80
- Mistress Buckled Stiletto $29.80
- Peep Toe Gladiator Heels $24.80
- Chain Sling Back Platforms $24.80
- Jennifer Peep Toe Boot $26.80
I especially like #4 and #5 and for about $52 you can’t go wrong
