Ok so I had a really relaxing weekend, which was much needed because of my busy and stressful week. Working full time, graduate, and blogging does take its toll on me sometimes, but none the less I am back! Please allow me to vent a little…. Last week we had parent-teacher conferences and I saw about 100 parents of my 160 students in two days (smh ridiculous right!!!) The last day of the conferences my laptop stopped working! It would not load up and go to the start page. I called Dell (they are the worse!! Never again will I purchase one) and they gave me the run-around at first, then ridiculous prices to fix the problem with my computer! I spoke to 4 different people one “supervisor” (I think he was lying) and some fool named RJ who tried to get smart with me (so you know the Brownsville in me came out during that convo. I ended up going to BestBuy and the GeekSquad are going to fix my problem and I’ll have my laptop back by the end of the week. Back to work, I have been stressing over curriculum-mapping because this is what the Quality Review will be grading the schools on this year (Thanks Bloomberg *side eye*) and I had a few assignments do for school, but no complaints here about school. So that was my week, but I did go to Negril Village Friday night for a friend’s birthday, the food was really good, as usual. I did watch the Yankess kick Philly’s butt!!! We are so winning the World Series.
Anyway here are some encouraging words for the beginning of the work week…
Attitude is a decision: you choose your own attitude. You do not wake up bitter and angry, you choose to be bitter and angry. You do not wake up despising people and your job, you choose to despise those people and your job. The negative attributes are not built into our character. That is something we acquire because we are not loving and forgiving. In church I learned that YOUR ATTITUDE DETERMINES YOUR APPROACH, AND YOUR APPROACH DETERMINES YOUR SUCCESS OR FAILURE. Attitude is definitely a decision, because you can either choose to be happy or choose to be sad. You can choose to sulk, or you can choose to live a joyful life. So this morning I encourage you to choose the right attitude. Someone did not wake up this morning, someone is unable to read this blog, someone is unable to see or hear, someone does not have functioning limbs, and so change your attitude because ultimately it is your decision.
