Rihanna

Rihanna has released the album cover for her 4th studio album “Rated R”

Maybe it is just me, but she looks abused in this picture. This is very DARK for the International Popstar. It is borderline Marilyn Manson in my opinion. I am not a huge fan of her first single “Russian Roulette” as stated in previous posts I think it is irresponsible (that goes for the artist, writer, and producer). She really seems to have taken a turn into the dark side, or is she just revealing who she truly is? Artists are supposed to evolve, whether it is with their style or music, but what happened to the bright and sunny West Indian girl from Barbados? I guess Jay was right when he said “Once a good girl’s gone bad, she’s gone forever” but I didn’t think he meant she would turn to the darkside.

Michelle Obama is truly amazing. She definitely makes me more proud to be a Black woman. In this day and age we have very few positive role models for young women. Michelle represents elegance and carries herself gracefully. We are definitely competing with the likes of the Nicki Minaj’s, Trina’s, and Lil Kim’s for the attention of young African-American women. Yes, all of the women listed above are talented, but the images that they represent for black women are not positive.

Glamour

I am not telling 17 and 18yr olds to go outside in a business suit or pencil skirt and cardigan, but to always remember to respect themselves and not comform to what is popular in society. The respect you have for yourself should come across in your appearance, actions, and attitude.

Here is Chris Brown’s new video

Say whatever you want about Chris…but this dude is talented.

I guess Khloe and Lamar and truly “in love.” The Newly weds just recently made their love “permanent” by tattooing each others initials on their hands.

Lo-Ko Isn’t love beautiful…smh

What Happens When…You Do Not Get Enough Sleep

sleep

According to Dr. Oz, after een one night of four hours’ sleep instead of eight, you’ll feel cranker and generally “down.” You’ll have more difficculty processing complex information, and you’ll want to eat more-specifically simple carbs like sweets. Why? your body wants a quick energy fix any way it can get it. When you don’t get enough rest, your body also produces less growth hormone, a substance that helps tissues regenerate and repair thenselves, keeping you younger longer.

The exact amout of rest your body needs is very personal, but, on average, I recommend (Dr. Oz) women get no fewer than seven hours. Men are a bit neeider, they have to get closer to eight.
