This fall everything from sequins, to studs, to spikes will adorn our favorite garments and accessories. One trend that was featured on HGB before for the Spring, is sticking around for the Fall season as well. That trend is the Zipper Effect.
Whether used to make a statement on a dress (like the picture above) or on handbags, shoes, dresses, and other accessories, the use of zippers isn’t only to keep your pants or your jackets closed. Beyonce was seen yesterday with Hubby Hov at the Madison Square Garden press conference in a 3.1 Phillip Lim Ruffled Zipper Skirt (about$650 at Barneys) with a black tank and she looked GOOD.
The skirt was the statement piece as with all zipper pieces. Please do not wear zipper inspired clothing from head to toe…you might zip one of your body parts like this guy

One of the latest trends that ruled the runway for Fall/Winter 2009 is the Ombre Effect! Ombre is a French word that means shading and is used to describe a technique used by many fashion designers where they fade or bleed colors into one another. Now this technique is somewhat difficult. You would not attempt to do the fading like we did back in the day with the half and half nails. You have to have the right polish to accomplish this look as well. I think colors that are vibrant and shiny would work better, it would be less of a dingy look if you tried with say a dull or matte color.

Success isn’t equated with material things. Those are luxuries that you have to show after you have attained a CERTAIN type of success. You can be successful at baking a cake, learning to ride a bike, or even uploading a picture on facebook (upload successful). Success is defined as having attained wealth, honors, positions or the like. One thing that I learned in church is that TRUE WEALTH IS PORTABLE-If you lost all everything you’ve ever owned or valued would you be able to get it back? I know I would because I have the only true wealth which is KNOWLEDGE I can relocate to any city or country in the world and become successful because of what I have learned through my experiences at home, in school, in church, and even in the streets. I can go to France and live on the farm and use my knowledge to work towards becoming successful. If I moved to France with a Benz, that doesn’t shoe anything. Many people perpetrate and live beyond their means. Their OUTCOME is more than their INCOME. Your material items show that you get fly, but that’s it. So the keyword in this song is SUPPOSE I suppose those things are nice, but that’s not what equals success. Lets not be controlled by money and our possessions, but lets control our possessions and money by becoming successful and making wise choices. With that being said….ENJOY THE VIDEO.
